With all the termoil in the world going on there is alwasy good. One of those great, fabulous things to happen is my wife and I found out we are having a boy. I just want the world or anyone who reads my blogs to know that. We are planning on naming our son Aasen and he is due this August. The best thing to happen in the world is to see a child smile :)
As the world news turns its eyes upon Iran and there nuclear weapons Taiwan definitely says it will not be part of China. With China's law in effect saying that if Taiwan tries to become its own country China may use force I am wondering what will happen next. In my opinion Taiwan and China have become two different countries with two different ways to govern. Taiwan went the democratic way and China the Communist way. I think that in the end Taiwan does need to become its own country and govern its people that way they want not be governed by China a country with over a billion people. In the next couple of years we will see how the whole story unfolds but I feel that in the end the people of Taiwan will want to annex from China.
The future is so unknown that it is scary. With the rise of bird flu on the way also known as H5N1 virus many of us are worried is there going to be another pandemic? Will we be prepared for a mass airborne mutated virus? Well these are good questions. One problem at the moment is this AIDS.... Even though AIDS is sexually transmitted in some areas of Africa nearly 50% of the populations have been wiped out. The band marches on while this happens where is the mass uproar to help the poor people of Africa have you seen any mass donations to help the people not necessarily. So if there is a pandemic what will happen to the country of Africa? Will the world give the same amount of attention to Africa for bird flu as they have done for HIV? If so what will happen to the people that reside there? America and other developed countries are building stock piles of vaccine and other resources to fight the pandemic but what will happen will the band march on as Africa is infected with a more serious and lethal virus that is spread by the air while we save as many of our own people in our own countries. Or will we unite and be a global world. When will we stop looking at the color of ones skin to help others or the language they speak and look at the heart and soul? There is good every where. We as a world need to help those who cannot help themselves. I hope this blog influences some people into thinking about the world and not the own little world. With some much violence in the world let people help each other...
I have been reading in the paper about Iran and its nuclear program. Being in the military and being a catholic I feel that this is a very difficult situation. On the one hand Iran should be able to peruse nuclear technology for civilian electricity reasons... Even though Iran is the second largest producer of oil they should still if they want is able to produce power by Fission. But the President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Iran's president has threatened to use nuclear weapons repeatedly. He has also been quoted at saying that one nuclear missile from Israel will kill millions of Iranians but one Iranian nuclear missile will eliminate Israel. Israel uses harsh approaches to subdue the Palestinian’s but that in no means should be a cause to kill millions of innocent people. Also the nuclear deal the US made with India during all this has made things even more difficult it is true that India has not openly threatened to wipe out any country but India and Pakistan are long term rivals. At the moment things are reasonable between the two countries. But if things escalate the World does not want nuclear weapons being fired between the countries and any human being with a heart knows what nuclear weapons due. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are two cities that come to mind. The horror there is enough deterrence to cause any reasonable nation to not posse’s nuclear weapons. The final aspect is as the US we should start leading by example we need to reduce and even eliminate our nuclear weapon arsenal to show the world that nuclear weapons are not the key. We need to show the world that we will fight back if we are hit (9/11) but we need to show the world that we are a nation that does not need to posses Nuclear weapons to fight back.

When the tsunami hit my battle group went over there and I was on board the USS Abraham Lincoln helping tsunami victims. The devastation that I saw was great and was something that I would never want to happen to my country. There was everything floating in the water off the coast of samatra. For the countries and people who think the US is about taking over and controlling countries we saved thousands of lives helping and rebuilding and the US military does this with every major disaster that happens. The sights I saw in the waters were horrible but we were there to help and we provided great assistance to the people as a military unit. I think that is one main reason why the US military is so great both by power and by generosity. If you read this what do you think?
