What should I do?

I have a free ticket to go see my brother in Italy. My wife at first said it was okay to go now she has changed her mind and is mad that I am even thinking of going. I do not know what to do.. I have not hung out with my brother in years and this may be my last time I will be able to visit him for a few years. I dont know what I should do becasue if I go I think it will have serious conseqences in my marriage. My brother on the other hand have been best friends since before I was able to walk. It is a hard decision I do not know waht to do and only have a few days to decide.

What we as Americans need to do for our future!

I have been looking at grim forecasts about America.

1. Our Medical Care is terrible.

2. Our Education System is not up to the rest of the world.

3. Our economy is failing

4. Illegal immigration is rampant

5. Our airlines are struggling

6. Our roads are deteriorating

7. Our Nation is tired and old.

To each of these I will answer what every American I believes either thinks or deep down fells.

1. We need subsidized medical care that everyone can afford. Children should have medical care no matter what. We need to promote educating doctors and nurses to get rid of the shortfall that is 11% in some places of nurses and doctors.

2. We need a path that starts our around 14 years old 3 ways to go.
A. Path to college by taking college level classes as early as 15
B. Path to a technical school that prepares one for a technical degree.
C. Path to On the Job training for a more labor intensive job.
We need to subsidize college and make it more affordable for all students and base education on merit not wealth. We need to improve the way we teach our youth by incorporating, second languages, geography and other subjects at a much younger age to make kids more competitive in a global market.

3. We as Americans are facing tough competition from abroad. We need to educate mathematicians, scientists, doctors and not emphasise money type degrees such as lawyers and business admin. We need to be more competitive cut costs and live in our means no easy lending save for the future and be ready for outsourcing, off shoring and a global market place that all countries are bidding to be the top dog.

4. We need to make it easier for illegal immigrants to be citizens and make the path to citizenship easier for professionals we need. On the other hand we need to stop illegal immigration from lowering wages in professions and give big business ways to make more money and pay less.

5. As Americans we need to have airlines held accountable for delays for lost luggage we need to improve airport infrastructure and become less of a militaristic nation have less security that does not work because we are loosing tourism due to the requirements to even visit the United States.

6. Roads are roads America needs to have a better mass transit system for rural areas allowing us to relied less on cars and give our roads a break. We have grown more dependent on oil in the last ten years by 21% while Europe has grown 7% less dependent due to mass transit and government practices.

7. We are not tired and old but we need to stand up voice our opinion and make our nation work.

Iraq

As my time draws closer to my deployment I wonder if I will be able to help the people of Iraq. It seems there is a daily occurrence of car bombings and murder over there. The world at times seems to have violence and hate at its root. I hope that people can root at the evil before it spreads and another Major war occurs and more lives are lost. The war of ideology is happening all over the world. I just hope that freedom and being able to choose what you want for you life prevails. The segregation towards women and freedom still exists and is trying to expand. I hope we the people of earth will fight this atrocities and make the world a better place to live.

Aasen takes his first steps.

My son Aasen recently started to walk. He will slowly rise off the ground look around and slowly and methodically takes he takes his steps. Some days he will walk a few steps others he will act like it is nothing. My wife and I were glad to see that he had progressed further in life. Lataly I have felt bad becasue I work all the time but I am still glad before I leave that I am able to see one of the most wonderful things, the progression of my son. To everyone that reads this blog some of you this will take you back, others will be going through the same process but it is a woderful thing to experience. I would never take it back for anything in the world.

World Opinion

I was wondering what everyone thinks about the US? Do you think we stand for freedom and Democracy around the world or do you think we are tyrants that occupies countries in our own self interest?
